Here we have another nice example of the ever popular 'Royal Chester' design, 1 1/2" scale Alchin. Royal Chesters always seem to be built by skilled model engineers, and this one is no exception. The drawings are fairly well detailed, and so the model tends not to be attempted by beginners. The model appears to only been steamed on a few occasions, judging by the soot levels on the boiler, and certainly mechanically it runs very well on air. There is no lining on the model, and the paint has been chipped off in a few places, particularly on the wheels. It was sitting for a little while in a garage, and although it was well oiled and coated in WD40 before being left, there is a certain amount of surface rust on some of the exposed steel parts as you can see in the photos. This is really very minimal, and will just rub off with a bit of wire wool. Normally we would do this sort of thing ourselves, but we are entirely snowed under at the moment trying to get through a fairly sizable backlog of work, so we've just knocked a few hundred pounds off the price instead to fund your wire wool and a few hours pocket money to pay a child to do it!
